Join Diana Eller and Gin Scott on Thursday mornings in May to learn all the ways to make pottery!!! Students will spend 2 mornings with Diana learning how to throw on the wheel and 2 mornings with Gin learning all the ways to hand build pottery! No experience with pottery or art is needed, just a curious mind and a desire to get your hands dirty!!! This is a very basic introductory class where students will learn how to wedge clay, center it on the wheel, open up a form and make cylindrical pots. The 3 methods of hand building: pinch pots, coiling and slab building will be covered and students will make projects with all 3 methods. This will be a fun way to try pottery to see if it's for you!! Students will return for a 5th session on Thursday, June 2 to glaze the pottery they make!! Pottery will be available for pick up 2 weeks after the last class. Class meets from 9-11:30 am on May 5, 12, 19, 26 and June 2nd. Clay and all tools needed will be provided. Students should wear comfy clothes and shoes that can get dirty.
