Spring '25 Kids' Studio -Tuesdays

Service Description

In this 5-week class, kids ages 8 and up will learn and use the hand building techniques of coiling, pinching and slabs to create a Face Pot, Fairy House and Leaf or Flower Bowl !!! And during one class, the kids will learn how to make a few pots on the pottery wheels!!! Once completed, pieces will be bisque fired in the kiln. Students will learn how to apply glazes to their pottery. One more kiln firing and pieces will be ready to take home! All materials and firings are included in class fee. Kids are encouraged to wear play clothes to the pottery studio and are welcome to bring water bottles or other drinks. Kids' Studio Tuesdays meet from 3:30-5:30. Due to school holidays and breaks, this class will meet on 3/4, 3/18, 3/25, 4/1 and 4/8. Please review the "Studio Policies" listed on the "Studio Handbook and Studio Policies" tab on the website. Instructor: Robin McGuirt Robin is an accomplished potter who lives in Harmony, NC with her husband, 2 dogs, sheep, chickens and bees. She works from her home studio, making primarily wheel thrown pieces. Robin has been making pottery for over 20 years and her favorite pieces to make are wine glasses and custom wedding and communion sets. She has shown her work at the Bascom in Highlands, NC, the Smart Gallery in W Jefferson and at GG's here in Statesville. Robin has shared her love of pottery with her children and now her grandchildren and looks forward to working with our Kids' Studio Classes!!
