6-Week Series – Monday Nights at Create Pottery Studio Starts Monday October 20th, no class November 24th for Thanksgiving Break Ready to get your hands dirty and your creativity flowing? Join local ceramic artist Sassy Smyth for a fun, hands-on journey into the world of hand-built pottery! Over the course of six Monday evenings, you’ll explore the magic of shaping clay with your own two hands—no experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to play. You will create a variety of unique clay projects as you learn and explore slab construction, coiling and pinch pots- the 3 primary techniques in hand building! You’ll also dive into surface decoration techniques using underglazes as well as stoneware glazes. Class projects this session include making a pumpkin shaped serving platter, strainer/fruit bowl and a mug. Students will also have time to complete a project of their own choosing. Whether you're looking to relax, express yourself creatively, further develop your hand building skills or just try something new, this class offers the perfect space to unwind and make something beautifully handmade. Come experience the joy of creating in clay—and leave with pieces that are uniquely yours. Let’s get muddy and make some magic! This class is for beginner and experienced hand builders and meets Monday evenings from 6-8:30pm. After the last class, students will return the next week at the regular class time for pottery pick up and our own version of "Pottery Class Show and Tell"!! All glazes and firings are included in the class fee. Clay is also included in the class fee to allow students to choose white or brown clay for the different projects. Students are encouraged to wear comfy old clothes and bring a bib apron to cover their clothes. Due to the small class size, no refunds will be available one week prior to the first class or once the class has started. The care and keeping of our studio depends on each person doing their part to understand and follow our Studio Policies.
