E Broad Street

Service Description

Join local ceramic artist, Robin McGuirt, on Saturday, June 28th from 10am-12;30pm and play with inks! She will lead the workshop in making mono prints, paper transfers, direct painting, stenciling and screen printing on clay. Create your own masterpiece while learning a new process. No previous clay experience necessary! This workshop will include a brief demonstration and a few tips on working with the new Amaco Ceramic Inks, then we’ll dive into creating our own slabs for plate making. All materials supplied. Plates will be fired and clear glazed by Create for you to pick up when complete. Instructor: Robin is an accomplished potter who lives in Harmony, NC with her husband, 2 dogs, sheep, chickens and bees. She works from her home studio, making primarily wheel thrown pieces. Robin has been making pottery for over 20 years and her favorite pieces to make are wine glasses and custom wedding and communion sets. She has shown her work at the Bascom in Highlands, NC, the Smart Gallery in W Jefferson and at GG's here in Statesville. Robin has taught many adult workshops in our area and most recently, she has taught Kids' Studio and Adult Wheel Throwing classes at Create, as well as clay workshops for kids and adults.
