Service Description

In this 7-week class, Robin McGuirt will guide beginning and early intermediate students to create a pair of mugs, a small pitcher, a lidded vessel and one fantastic bowl that we can complete with the Peacock glaze method. Each week we will tackle one of these forms with a short demonstration and time for you to work on your wheel while receiving personal feedback. All clay, glazes and firings are included in the class fee. Students are encouraged to wear comfy old clothes. This class meets on Tuesday mornings from 10-12:30, beginning on March 10th and ending on April 21st. To maximize time on the wheel, students will make pots during classes 1-4 and trim pots made the previous session at the beginning of the each class. Class 5 will involve preparing all pots for glazing and class 6 will be spent glazing!! For our final class, students will return for a "Show and Tell" of their finished work and pack up their pieces to take home. Due to the small class size, no refunds will be available one week prior to the first class or once the class has started. In the event the studio needs to cancel a class, a make up session will be offered, however, make up classes are not available for student absences. The care and keeping of our studio depend on each person doing their part to understand and follow all of the information in the Studio Handbook and the Studio Policies outlined on the website. Please take time to click on the "Studio Handbook and Studio Policies" link on the webpage. You will be asked to sign the "Studio Agreement and Waiver" form at your first class. Instructor: Robin McGuirt Robin is an accomplished potter who lives in Harmony, NC with her husband, 2 dogs, sheep, chickens and bees.
